Add Wired Builder to your Google Business Profile

This gives me access to manage your Google Business Profile: the listing that shows up on Google Search and Maps when people look for you.

You are not handing the profile over. You are adding a manager. Your business stays the owner, which is the access, not ownership rule I use on every account I touch.

Before you start

  • The Google account that owns your Business Profile. If you are not sure which one, it is usually the address that gets Google's emails about your reviews and monthly performance.
  • A computer. These steps are written for a desktop browser.
  • About two minutes.

The steps

  1. Open your Business Profile

    Go to business.google.com and sign in with the Google account that owns your profile. Or sign in to Google and search your business name. Your profile shows up with the tools to manage it.

    If you look after more than one business, pick the one you are giving me access to.

  2. Go to People and access

    Click the three dots (More), then Business Profile settings, then People and access.

    This page lists everyone who can manage the profile. You should see yourself there as Primary owner.

  3. Click Add and enter the address

    At the top left, click Add. Type [email protected] exactly as written.

  4. Choose Manager, then Invite

    Under Access, choose Manager. Not Owner.

    Manager lets me update your details, hours, photos and posts, and reply to reviews. It does not let me add or remove people or delete the profile. Those stay with you. Click Invite.

  5. Check the invite is pending

    Back on People and access, [email protected] now shows as a pending invite. That is your proof it sent.

    I accept it on my side, and Google emails you when I do. Nothing else to do.

Things worth knowing

You stay the owner

Primary ownership never moves. The profile belongs to your business, and I work with access, not ownership. If we stop working together, nothing needs to be handed back.

No password changes hands

I sign in with my own account. You never share your Google login, and nobody has to change a password when the work ends.

Manager is enough for the work

Business info, hours, photos, posts, review replies and performance insights all work at Manager level. Adding or removing people and deleting the profile are owner-only, which is how it should be.

You can remove me any time

Go to People and access, select [email protected], and remove it. Google emails me that access ended. Review replies and posts I made stay on your profile.

Common questions

Should I transfer ownership of my Google Business Profile to my agency?
No. Keep primary ownership with your business and add your agency as a manager. A manager can edit the profile, post updates and reply to reviews, but cannot remove you, add other people or delete the profile. If the relationship ends, you remove one user and you are done. Nothing has to be transferred back.
Do I need to give you my Google password?
No. You invite [email protected] from your own account, and I sign in with mine. Your login stays yours, and you can see and remove my access from People and access at any time.
What is the difference between an owner and a manager on a Google Business Profile?
Owners can do everything, including adding and removing people and deleting the profile. Managers can do almost everything else: edit business info, add photos and posts, reply to reviews and see insights. The primary owner is the one owner who holds the profile by default, and that should be someone at your business.
