Google's AI phones businesses for quotes; the one that answered ranked first.

Worth your time

There is something real in it. It may still carry a wrong number, and the note says so.

The clip

This is insane

The caption, as Matt Diamante wrote it on TikTok

It plays from TikTok, not from here. Nothing loads from them until you press the button, so reading this page sends them nothing.

Why it is graded that way

The feature is real. Google’s agentic calling (“Have AI get prices”) started in Search Labs in January 2025, and Google announced it for AI Mode in the US at I/O 2026. The claim on top of it is not established: that the business which answered the phone got recommended over better-ranked ones. That rests on one search filmed on a phone, with the site never named. The mechanism makes it plausible. One clip does not make it measured.

Checked against the original clip and, where it makes a factual claim, against whatever that claim leans on. If I have this wrong, tell me and I will fix the row and say what changed.
