Analytics and lead tracking setup
Lead tracking and analytics setup that shows what pays
Know which channels produce paying customers, and which only produce traffic.
Analytics, call and form tracking, and ad conversion setup, so you know which channels produce paying customers and which only produce traffic. Every call tap, form and booking is recorded as its own event and tied back to where the visitor came from.
Who it is for
Businesses spending on ads or SEO without knowing what it returns, owners who get a traffic report every month and still cannot say where last month's customers came from, and anyone whose Google Ads account counts clicks instead of enquiries.
What you get
- → Google Analytics 4 or PostHog set up properly, in accounts you own
- → Every phone tap, form submission and booking click tracked as a separate event
- → Ad conversions fed from real enquiries, so Google Ads optimises for leads instead of clicks
- → Campaign links tagged, so every channel reports under its own name
- → A question on your forms asking how people found you, for the channels analytics cannot see
- → Search Console and your Google Business Profile read alongside the rest
- → A plain-English monthly report: leads by channel, and what to do next
You know where your customers come from, and where the money should go.
Where we have built it
- houston-nannies.com ↗
The enquiry form asks each family how they found the site. 10 of 30 completed enquiries named an AI assistant, a channel no analytics tool reports on its own.
- wiredbuilder.com ↗
This site runs on PostHog, with enquiries, booking clicks and audit checkouts tracked as separate events.
Questions people ask
What is lead tracking?
Recording the actions that matter, a call, a form, a booking, as separate events, and tying each one to where the visitor came from. Traffic tells you people arrived. Lead tracking tells you which of them became enquiries, and which channel sent them.
Why does Google Analytics not show my leads already?
Out of the box it counts visits and page views. It does not know that a tap on your phone number, or a booking made in a separate tool, is a lead until someone sets that up. Booking tools that open on another site are the most common gap.
Can you track phone calls?
Taps on your phone number from the site, yes, as events. Calls that start from your Google profile show in the profile's own reports. Those reports are how we know Houston Nannies' calls stayed flat while clicks from the profile rose from 4 to 15 a month. Tying a call dialled by hand to the exact ad behind it needs a call tracking number, which we set up when the ad spend justifies it.
What about privacy and ad blockers?
Some visitors block tracking, so analytics always undercounts. That is why the form asks how people found you, and why we read several sources side by side instead of trusting one. Consent is handled to suit where your customers are.
