Google Business Profile and local search
Google Business Profile optimization for local search
Show up in the map results when nearby customers search.
Setup and ongoing work on your Google Business Profile: categories, services, photos, reviews and posts, so you show up in the map results when nearby customers search. Then the website is lined up to match, because Google trusts a listing more when the site says the same thing.
Who it is for
Local and service-area businesses whose customers search on a phone and pick from the map: trades, clinics, counsellors, childcare and home services. Especially if the profile was set up years ago and never touched, or never set up at all.
What you get
- → The profile claimed or cleaned up, in an account you own
- → Primary and secondary categories chosen against what actually ranks in your area
- → Services, service areas, hours and description written to match the website
- → Real photos, and posts that give searchers a reason to click
- → A direct review link, and a simple ask your team sends after every job
- → Your name, address and contact details checked for consistency across the web
- → A page on your site for every service on the profile
- → Views, website clicks and calls from the profile tracked month to month
Found in the map by the people nearby who are ready to call.
Where we have built it
- houston-nannies.com ↗
After the new site launched in June 2026, clicks from the agency's Google profile to the site went from 4 to 15 a month, and profile views from 143 to 341. Calls stayed flat, and we say so.
- sunhouse-agency-reviews.com ↗
A review site for a childcare agency, fed by its real Google reviews.
- Our own services page ↗
Every service on our own Google profile has a page on this site, this one included.
Questions people ask
How do I get my business to show up in the Google map results?
Three things decide it: how relevant your profile is to the search, how close you are to the person searching, and how prominent your business looks, which includes reviews. You cannot move closer. You can pick the right categories, list every service, keep the details current and collect reviews steadily. That is the work.
Is this different from your Google reviews service?
Yes. This is the profile itself and the local search around it, and reviews are one part of it. The review service goes further and keeps a copy of every review on a site you own. Plenty of businesses start here and add that later.
Do I need to show my home address?
No. If you travel to your customers, the profile can run as a service-area business, with the address hidden and the areas you cover listed instead. Our own profile lists areas served rather than a storefront.
How long before the profile starts working?
Changes to the profile show within days. Ranking changes take longer and depend on your competition. We track views, website clicks and calls from the profile every month, so you see the trend instead of guessing.
